Why Buy Locally?
Supporting local food boosts the local economy and helps protect the environment by lowering the distance your food has to travel to get to you. It's also important to see and know your farmers, so that you know where your food comes from. Not to mention how incredibly delicious fresh food from the garden is, there is simply no comparison to food harvested that day with something that has to be preserved to travel and sit on the shelves before it is purchased. Local food is important for our community and nourishes positive social interaction between people. Want to know more? Then come and visit us at the Fork N Farm!
We practice natural homesteading methods. Natural farming means we use the best seeds and practice seed saving when we can. No unnatural or toxic pesticides or fertilizers are used, just good old fashion manure! By spending the time to plan our fields we can use nature to our advantage through companion planting and crop rotation. Protecting the environment is just as important to us as growing clean healthy food for our community.

HOW IT WORKS
Our forkn’ farmers have been growing natural delicious vegetables for friends and families over the past decade and now for the third year Fork N Farm is offering Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) memberships to the public. The Fork N Farm family is committed to produce and deliver bountiful CSA shares for its members. Fork N Farm will act in good faith to provide the freshest produce for the CSA harvest season, however farming naturally, is also dependent on Mother Nature. And as a member of the CSA program you are agreeing to accept these benefits and risks with us. CSA is a commitment between the farm and the members for an entire growing season, of your choice. Fork N Farm will do their best to mitigate risk, though we cannot reimburse, refund, or otherwise compensate for crop failures or low yields. Being a part of our CSA is a true partnership between the community and the farm. Fork N Farm does not currently set volunteer requirements for its shareholders, but it is highly recommended that you join the farmers in the field when you can.
The CSA Half or Full Share is the main share for CSA membership. The farm delivers the share to the member selected locations and selected day of the week. There are 14- 16 weeks of scheduled delivery starting in June through to October. If you have also selected the Fall Extended Share, than your membership will continue deliveries through to December. During the CSA season, additional products are available on a weekly basis for all CSA members. Check the website weekly for updates on available products that will be sold at the Farmers Market. If a member would like to request any additional items be added to the weekly delivery then let us know and Fork N Farm will bring the additional items with the next delivery.
DISTRIBUTION AND COMMUNICATION
The CSA shares will be delivered to CSA locations on a weekly basis. If a member cannot pick up their share, another can be designated to pick up the share. Fork N Farm should be notified in advance so they can make note on the roster. Any shares not picked up during distribution will be donated at the end of distribution and cannot be held. Distribution is expected to start the second week in June for Tuesday locations and the first week in June for Saturday locations, running for 14 - 16 weeks. Members will be notified in advance of any alternate delivery day schedules. Members have direct contact with the farm and farmers. The farm will update Facebook weekly with the list of what is in harvest at the farm. Members are invited to come to the farm and join the farm fun.
Members can pay in full for a 5% discount when registering online by credit card or by mailing a check to the farm. Fork N Farm offers a payment plan that divides the cost of a CSA share in halves. The first payment is due at registration and the second payment is due on first delivery in June. If a member needs an extended payment plan, they should contact the farm so that arrangements can be made. If a member finds they need to return their membership, refunds for payments made to the farm will be made in full before the CSA distribution season starts. After the first CSA distribution, there will be no reimbursement for shares. During the CSA distribution season a member needs to change CSA pickup locations, they should contact the farm by phone or email to make arrangements at least two weeks in advance.
